The Basics of Our Faith

The Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

The Lord's Prayer (Our Father)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trepasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours forever and ever. Amen.

Glory to the Father
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Act of Contrition
Oh my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you and I detest all my sins because of your just punishments. But most of all because they have offended you my God, who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve with the help of your Grace, to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen.

Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace! The Lord is with you; blessed are you among woman and blest is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus, Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Angel of God
Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love entrusts me here. Ever this day be at my side to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

Fatima Prayer
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell and lead all souls into heaven, especially those who are in most need of your mercy.

Blessing Before Meals
Bless us, 0 Lord, in these thy gifts, which we are about to receive, from thy bounty to Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Memorare
Remember, oh most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, oh Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I cry, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. Oh Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petition, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.

Hail Holy Queen
Hail Holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail our life, our sweetness and our hope! To you we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us, and after this exile, show to us the Blessed Fruit of your womb, Jesus. Oh clement, Oh loving, Oh sweet Virgin Mary, pray for us, oh Holy Mother of God, that we be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Grace before Meals
Bless us, oh Lord, and these thy gifts, which we are about to receive from your bounty, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Angelus
V. The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.
R. And she conceived by the Holy Spirit. Hail Mary. . .
V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord,
R. Be it done unto me according to your word. Hail Mary . . .
V. And the Word was made flesh.
R, And dwelt among us. Hail Mary . . .
V. Pray for us, Holy Mother of God,
R. that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray, Pour forth, we beseech You, Oh Lord, Your Grace into our hearts. That we, to whom the incarnation of Christ, your Son, was made known by the message of an angel. May we, by his Passion and Cross, be brought to the Glory of his Resurrection, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Nicene Creed
I believe in one God, the Father the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is. seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father. Through him, all things were made.

For us and for our salvation, he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit, he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary and was made man. For our sake, he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, suffered death and was buried. On the third day, he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day, he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins and the resurrection of life everlasting. Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament
O virgin Mary, our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, great praise and honor of Christians, joy of all the church, and salvation of the world, pray for us and awaken in all the faithful a true devotion for the most holy Host and Eucharist so that they themselves may make a great effort to be worthy to recieve Him in daily communion.

V. Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament. R. Pray for us.
